History

I started filmmaking in high school. I gathered a bunch of friends who could act and some supportive adults I knew from live theater, and we put together a movie. It was a half feature length western, which ran roughly 48 minutes. The screenplay was an adaptation of a script my sister had written for the stage. After six months of planning, it was shot during a four month period at five locations including a county historic museum, a Boy Scout camp, a historic railroad, a small town in the Sierra Nevadas, and on a constructed set. I acted as Director, but also did primary camera work and was co-editor. The movie was screened at the theater of a local high school and got mentioned on a radio program, both of which were immensely rewarding.

After high school, I went to UCLA. I took classes on editing, digital cinematography, filmmaking technique and the history of filmmaking from the School of Theater, Film and Television. I continued developing my filmmaking skills by working with a more experienced videographer and editor in creating promotional pieces for a couple of Boy Scout units in the Bay Area.

Present

After graduating, I began working freelance as a videographer and editor. Over the last few years I have worked with a variety of Bay Area clients on a variety of different projects. Such clients include Camco Furnace: camera work, editing, and publishing on the web; Applied Analytix: editing and DVD authoring; Stanford University HIP: camera work, editing and motion graphics; Aden Brothers Studio: camera work; and the Mary Aden – Matthew Highstreet wedding party: camera work, editing and DVD authoring.
